Exploited and invisible (VR)
Explotades i invisibles. La situació de vulnerabilitat de les dones al món del treball (Exploited and Invisible
The Situation of Women’s Rights Violations in the World of Work) is a Virtual Reality exhibition commissioned by the Pau i Solidaritat Foundation in Catalonia.
The goal of this project was to help audiences understand the vulnerable situations women face in workplaces around the world.
The briefing focused on intersectional gender discrimination, workplace violence, the recognition of unpaid care work, women’s access to economic resources, and the need to strengthen women’s participation in decision-making spaces, while promoting policies and practices grounded in gender justice through digital tools.
We created an immersive virtual reality experience that allows participants to witness, in first person, a full working day in the lives of three women in different parts of the world.
Although the stories are fictional, they are built from documented real-life testimonies. The environments were developed in 3D, offering a non-interactive, seated VR experience in which users are guided through three distinct narratives.
The exhibition is designed as a traveling installation and is scheduled to tour throughout Catalonia, bringing these stories to diverse communities and fostering empathy, awareness, and critical reflection on gender inequality in the world of work.
The work included the concept, scriptwriting, and production.
